Oregon Wind
Oregon Wind Corporation is the manufacturer of the Helyx HE-40 “Urban Turbine,” a vertical axis micro-turbine specifically designed for urban environments. Self-starting and responsive to low wind speeds and turbulent, multi-directional winds, the Helyx “Urban Turbine” creates power on site where it is needed, allowing home owners, businesses and municipalities to reduce their grid reliance (and therefore their carbon footprints). Since 2002, Oregon Wind has been researching, prototyping and testing its products; it expects to bring the turbine, as well as a self-reliant wind/solar hybrid streetlight version of it, to market in 2009.
